Today we...

Language Arts:

  • 1st Period:
    • Character PowerPoint with a focus on character traits and motives.
    • Students read paragraphs 10-12 of our story, Priscilla and the Wimps.
    • Setting the Purpose: What is the plot (Exposition, Rising Action and Climax)?
  • 2nd Period:
    • Character PowerPoint:
      • Finished discussing antagonist.
      • Began discussing Character Traits and Motive.

Math:
  • 1st Period:
    • Students completed and reviewed the Week-By Week Essentials.
    • Students started Order of Operations assessment.
  • 2nd Period:
    • Students completed Week-by-Week Essentials.
    • Students reviewed Order of Operations and word problems.
Science:
  • 5th and 6th: Played "Are You Smarter than a Sixth Grader" as a review for our science test.

Social Studies:
  • 5th Period:
    • Compared and Contrasted North Carolina to Ecuador.
  • 6th Period:
    • Students worked on the Geographical theme: Human/Environment Interaction.

Homework:
  • Math:
    • 1st Period: 
      • None
    • 2nd Period:
      • Finish word problems on page 5
      • Study for Order of Operations test.
  • Language Arts
    • Reading Log
    • Vocabulary: "Think-Tac-Toe":
      • Students are to complete vocabulary activities using the words from "Priscilla and the Wimps" (see list above).
      •  9 choices are given (based on Multiple Intelligences) on the choice board.
      • Students are to complete 3 (1st period) or 4 (2nd period) activities out of the 9.
      • These activities are due FRIDAY, October 1st
    • VOCABULARY QUIZ ON FRIDAY!!!
  • Science:
    • 5th and 6th: Study notebook pages 10-15 for tomorrow's test!!!
    • SCIENCE TEST will include:
      • This test will assess length (cm), mass (g) and volume (ml).
      • Students should use their notes and activities in their Interactive Notebook as a study guide.
  • Social Studies:
    • None
